One of the toughest details to nail down when you’re getting married is your wedding venue. Have you considered having a garden wedding in Las Vegas?
Brandy and Ryan decided to do just that and came into Vegas from out of town. They held a traditional wedding at The Grove, a garden style wedding venue in Las Vegas which offers many different options for your ceremony and reception. You can find out more about The Grove itself if you’re looking for a Garden Wedding right here in this blog post.
Brandy’s best friend Stephanie actually reached out to me and took care of all of the photography details for her friend. Brandy and I chatted over email to get to know each other and for me to learn about her and Ryan’s relationship.
Brandy walked down the aisle to a huge smile on Ryan’s face as her dad gave her away. The wedding party and guests headed indoors for the reception where they danced, toasted, and played the shoe game. Have you heard of the shoe game? I hadn’t either until I witnessed it! Basically you take each person and seat them back to back. Each of them are holding one of their shoes and then one of the other person’s shoes. Questions are asked like “Who is the messiest” “Who snores the loudest” “Who said I love you first” and each person raises that persons shoe. Sometimes they would consider themselves the answer and hold up their own shoe. But other times (most of the time) it was the other person.
I love photographing weddings, especially ones like Brandy and Ryan’s because as their wedding photographer I really get to know them. It’s not just a show up, point and click and then I’m gone. We really spend some time talking. I get to learn about their relationship, how they met, how they got engaged, where they’re going for their honeymoon, what their future plans are. And then at the wedding I get to see the relationship and the love that we talked about for so many months in action! I get to meet their family and friends and see that dynamic.
And the best part is, I get to capture it for them with my camera. They’ll have these images for the rest of their lives! And the purpose of my work is for them to remember this moment together every time they look at their images. So whether they keep them on their hard drive, print them out and display them in their home, put them in an album. No matter what they choose to do with their wedding photos, at least they will have them and always have that reminder of back when it all started, on their wedding day.
