The Bellevue Botanical Garden is a hidden gem in the city of Bellevue. Originally deeded to the City of Bellevue by Cal and Harriet Shorts in 1981 with the agreement that it would remain a public park, this 7.5 acres of land is simply stunning. This land opened to the public as a botanical garden and visitor center in 1992 and is always growing, changing, and expanding. Not only are the gardens and multiple trails throughout available for people to come visit, but many events are hosted here such as Arts in the Garden which allows local artists to display their work throughout.
There are also many classes and learning opportunities for adults and children such as information about Hummingbirds, Native Plants and Bird Habitats, and Flower Arranging for Families. You can lear more about the garden itself as well as learning opportunities here.
I had the opportunity to visit the Bellevue Botanical Garden when I was asked to photograph the Everett Family. They live nearby and have wanted to have a family photo session done at the gardens for some time. Thankfully it was a beautiful day in Bellevue and we had the opportunity to just walk around and find great locations which really wasn’t difficult in this setting. It did begin to rain here and there but no one cared. Plus there was a lot of tree cover which helped us out a lot. I actually really enjoy shooting in the rain especially in the Pacific Northwest. We all know that this area is green for a reason and when it rains the skies are overcast and this brings out the deep green colors that I love about the PNW so much.
Take a look at these beautiful, fun, and light hearted family photos that we did at the Bellevue Botanical Garden! And if you’re interested in scheduling your family photo session please inquire at www.ambercarlphoto.com or email me at email@example.com
